Günther Jauch has Covid-19. For the second time in a row, the presenter is therefore absent from his RTL show with Thomas Gottschalk and Barbara Schöneberger.

Last week it became known that moderator Günther Jauch, 64, fell ill with Covid-19 and is therefore in quarantine at home. As the broadcaster RTL has now announced, it will be canceled for the second time on Saturday, April 17th, for the program “Because they do not know what is happening! The Jauch-Gottschalk-Schöneberger Show”.

Jauch cures corona disease at home

“I am one of over 3 million corona infected people in Germany and am curing my Covid 19 disease at home until the end of my isolation at home,” said Jauch himself, commenting on his renewed absence. Regarding release from domestic isolation, the rules of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) apply. Accordingly, it is possible no earlier than 14 days after the onset of the disease. In addition, there must be no more signs of illness for at least 48 hours, Covid 19 symptoms must have improved sustainably. A rapid antigen test or PCR test is performed prior to discharge.

Günther Jauch, who initially hoped to end his quarantine on Friday, April 16, had to call in sick last Saturday, April 10, for the first time in 31 years. With “Because they don’t know what’s going to happen!” However, he was immediately replaced by a number of well-known women: Sonja Zietlow, 52, Motsi Mabuse, 40, Laura Wontorra, 32, Lola Weippert, 25, Frauke Ludowig, 57, Evelyn Burdecki, 32, Victoria Swarovski, 27, and Amira Pocher , 28. All eight wore photo masks with Jauch’s face and were gradually unmasked.

Whoever replaces the 64-year-old presenter on the live show this week, wants to reveal RTL only in the program. Jauch himself will be there again via video. It starts on Saturday at 8:15 p.m.
