Charles III released a statement ahead of the Queen’s funeral. He thanked the public for their great participation.

King Charles III (73) before the funeral of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), this Monday (September 19) published a statement. In it, the new monarch thanked for the great sympathy.

“Over the past ten days, my wife and I have been so touched by the many messages of condolence and support we have received from this country and around the world,” he began. In London, Edinburgh, Hillsborough and Cardiff, he and the Queen Consort, Camilla (75), were “touched beyond measure” that all the people made the effort “to come and the lifelong service of my dear mother, who late Queen to pay her respects”.

Charles III continued: “As we all prepare to say our last goodbyes, I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the countless people who have offered such support to my family and I at this time of grief and consolation.”

State Funeral in London

Following the Queen’s death on September 8, Charles was touring the UK with his wife Camilla. The couple also appeared in public, including speaking to people gathered in front of the royal residences. Charles also greeted people queuing in London to bid their farewells to the Queen’s coffin in Westminster Hall.

The state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II will take place this Monday in Westminster Abbey in London. 2,000 guests are expected, including heads of state and royals from all over the world. The Queen will then be buried in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
