Behavior Interactive (Dead by Daylight) acquires Midwinter Entertainment, console versions of Scavengers canceled

Consolidation continues to continue in the world of video games, but this time it is on a smaller scale. We learn today that the studio behind the successful game Dead by Daylight, Behavior Interactivejust got his hands on the studio Midwinter Entertainmentto whom we owe Scavengers. And the announcement of this takeover has immediate consequences, since the console versions of Scavengers just canceled.

The beginning of the end for Scavengers

The buyout is for an amount still unknown, but Behavior Interactive should close the deal on June 2. With this acquisition, the studio intends to strengthen its teams with new talents and new projects, which sees in Midwinter Entertainment a studio in line with the values and way of operating of Behavior Interactive.

But the consequence in all this is that the console versions of Scavengers, which were currently in the testing phase, are now purely and simply canceled. The PC version will continue to exist and be updated thanks to a dedicated game support team, but the bulk of the studio will now work on an as yet unannounced project. It is therefore difficult to imagine Scavengers get out of its early access, the studio and its new owner certainly wanting to turn the page.
