Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics: what are the chances of a French medal this Sunday, February 13?

Télé Star invites you to find out what the main chances of French medals are, this Sunday, February 13, at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Will our French athletes bring us new medals this Sunday, February 13? Currently thirteenth in the ranking of medals with 7 medals (1 in gold and 6 in silver), the French delegation will try to expand its charm cabinet.

The first medal, in silver, was awarded to the mixed relay in biathlon. Second in the event, Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Émilien Jacquelin, Julia Simon and Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet opened the counter for the French delegation on Saturday 5 February. Then it was the turn of the 41-year-old skier, Johan Clarey, to add a second Olympic place thanks to his superb descent on Monday 7 February. Immediately after, Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet won a third silver medal in the women’s individual biathlon event. The next day, Tuesday, February 7, Quentin Fillon Maillet won the only French Olympic title in Beijing during his superb individual journey. Tess Ledeux (Big air) and Chloé Trespeuch (snowboard cross) both added silver for France. Finally, Quentin Fillon-Maillet won his third Olympic medal by winning silver in the biathlon sprint.

A very good result which could allow him to get a new charm this Sunday. Indeed, at 11:45 a.m. will take place biathlon men pursuit. Thanks to his ranking in the sprint, QFM will start in second position in the pursuit in order to catch up on Johannes Boe, Olympic sprint champion, who will start with more than 20 seconds ahead of the Frenchman. Émilien Jacquelin could also snatch a podium as he will start the race in ninth position.

Shortly before, at 10 hours exactly, it will be the turn of the women to take the start of the biathlon pursuit. Even if it seems more complicated than for the boys, the French women still have a chance of winning a medal, thanks to Anais Bescond who will start in ninth position.

Finally, in alpine skiing, Alexis Pinturault hopes to regain confidence after his big disappointment during the combined event this Thursday, February 10. Hit in the right shoulder when he fell during the slalom of the event, he spent his Friday between rest and treatment, in order to be able to present himself in good shape during the event of the Giant scheduled from 3h15 for the first race and 6:45 am for the second. We will therefore have to get up early or stay up late to support the Frenchman who hopes to relaunch in these Olympic Games.
