Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics: what are the chances of a French medal this Tuesday, February 15?

Télé Star invites you to find out what the main chances of French medals are, this Tuesday, February 15, at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Will our French athletes bring us new medals this Tuesday, February 15? Currently ninth in the medal standings with 11 medals (3 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze), the French delegation will try to expand its charm cabinet.

The first medal, in silver, was awarded to the mixed relay in biathlon. Then it was the turn of the 41-year-old skier, Johan Clarey, to add a second Olympic place thanks to his superb descent on Monday February 7. Immediately after, Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet won a third silver medal in the women’s individual biathlon event. The following day, Tuesday February 8, Quentin Fillon Maillet won the first French Olympic title in Beijing during his superb individual journey. Tess Ledeux (Big air) and Chloé Trespeuch (snowboard cross) both added silver for France. Quentin Fillon-Maillet then won a third Olympic medal by winning silver in the biathlon sprint, before winning another gold medal in the pursuit. In alpine skiing, Mathieu Faivre won the bronze medal in the Géant event in alpine skiing, as did the men’s cross-country ski relay. Finally, we were waiting for them and they did not disappoint: Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron became Olympic champions in ice dancing on Monday February 14 thanks to two magnificent performances on the ice.

Quentin Fillon-Maillet towards a historic fifth medal?

And this Tuesday, February 15, a great program awaits our French. It will start from 2:30 a.m.French time, with the slopestyle skiing final. An event in which our Big Air Olympic vice-champion participates, Tess Ledeux. Ninth after qualifying, the French preferred to play it safe in order to be one of the 12 finalists. “The idea was to keep it simple and clean, even if I could have done it cleaner, she admitted to France TV just after her run. I was very tense and stressed during the first run, it was not easy because we are very tired. But I’m going to dig deep.”

Finally, the other highly anticipated event will undoubtedly be the men’s biathlon relay. The start is scheduled for 7:30 a.m.. The French are among the favourites, as are the Norwegians and the Russians. In the tricolor camp, we will thus find Émilien Jacquelin, Simon Desthieux, Fabien Claude, and of course Quentin Fillon-Maillet. Already a quadruple Olympic medalist on one edition – a first for a Frenchman at the Winter Olympics – the Jura player still does not seem satisfied and hopes to win a new title with his group of friends. Given the form of the biathlete in these games, both on skis and behind the rifle, gold is within range.

There will also be, on the program, the women’s alpine ski descent scheduled for 4 a.m., in which Romane Miradoli, Laura Gauché, Tiffany Gauthier and Camille Cerutti will participate. Bobsleigh is also expected with the two-man bobsleigh and the duo Dorian Hauterville and Romain Heinrich, starting at 1:15 p.m.
