This Thursday, February 29, the pair of strangers from Beijing Express had a funny experience during a dinner at a local’s home. While Ryad did not want to taste the dessert of the day, Louison did not hide his disgust for a fruit coveted in Indonesia.
Since the beginning of the Beijing Express adventure called In the footsteps of the golden tiger, Ryad and Louison are among the most endearing pairs of the program broadcast on M6. While they didn’t know each other before starting the show presented by Stéphane Rotenberg, they quickly learned to deal with each other’s differences. “So there, nothing to see! I see this beautiful beast, muscles, muscles, it’s my complete opposite”, Louison confided upon discovering his traveling partner. From now on, the sports coach from Marseille and the adventurer from Charentes-Maritimes move forward hand in hand. And even if they are systematically chosen for the final duel, they manage to stay in the race.
This Thursday, February 29, while they had been saved by the non-eliminatory envelope, Louison and Ryad received a disability. They had to finish the stage in the company of a durian seller, an exotic fruit known to be smelly. In the evening, the pair found room and board with an Indonesian family. If the dinner rejoiced the two hitchhikers after a trying day, a grain of sand still came to sow trouble. The arrival of dessert cooled them down a bit. Indeed, the hosts had chosen to open a durian. “We will never forget him”immediately launched Ryad who preferred to abstain and let his racing partner taste this dish savored by Indonesians. “It smells like feet with rotten meat“added the sports coach. “I am going to throw up…I don’t feel like throwing up today, I ate peppers.”then reacted Louison who still honored the dish.

Out of politeness, Louison agreed to taste the durian served by his host. “We tell ourselves that we will try and that we will go to bed less stupid tonight”, he explained to the camera. While Ryad did not hide his disgust, the young Charentais took it upon himself to taste a small piece of this fruit. However, he couldn’t help but leave the house… to vomit. As he feared, the durian did not conquer him and left him with an unforgettable memory. A culinary adventure that could have been well done without!
