Matt Damon: He’s not allowed to kiss Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck, 49, has now revealed details about his new film “The Last Duel”, which starts in cinemas on October 14, in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight”. Actually, his colleague and buddy Matt Damon, 51, was supposed to kiss him in one scene. But fans will be disappointed – the scene was changed so that Matt “just” kneels in front of Ben. “It’s the same at home,” jokes Ben. “When he started directing, I actually had to get into his house that way,” adds Matt with a laugh. In the historical drama, which is based on real events, Matt plays Jean de Carrouges, a French knight during the Hundred Years War. Ben plays the French nobleman Pierre d’Alençon.

“In the original version of this scene – the way the ceremony actually took place – you kissed everyone on the mouth,” explains Hollywood star Ben Affleck. “And we had that in the script too.” Director Ridley Scott, 83, decided to cancel the kissing scene from the start and it was never shot. “Ridley thought it would be distracting and his instincts are pretty good,” said the 49-year-old. “That would have been our first kiss on screen,” says Matt. “That’ll have to wait,” replies Ben.

Ryan Gosling gives private insights into his family life

Ryan Gosling, 40, and Eva Mendes, 47, have been a couple since 2011 and are parents of two children. They lead relatively withdrawn lives, most of all keeping their daughters Esmeralda Amada, 7, and Amanda Lee, 5, out of the public eye. But in an interview with “GQ”, Ryan Gosling now speaks unusually openly about his family – a rarity. During the corona lockdowns, he and Eva had come up with a few things to keep the kids happy.

“Our children are very young and it was difficult for them to be separated from other children and not be able to see their families,” explains the Hollywood actor. Because of this, the star and his famous wife did their “best to entertain them”. “I think Eva and I acted more in quarantine than in our entire career,” he adds, jokingly.
