Pop singer Ben Zucker has recently lost a lot of weight. How he succeeded, he reveals in an interview with spot on news.

Ben Zucker (37) has been since his debut album “Na und ?!” (2017) a fixture in the German hit world. In 2018 he was nominated twice for the Echo and his second long player “Who says that ?!” stayed at number one on the German album charts for weeks. On Friday (April 16), “Now even more!” the third album by the Berliner by choice. His success puzzles the singer to this day: “I’m really happy about it, but of course I can’t explain it. I’m grateful and work hard, that could have helped,” said Ben Zucker in an interview with the news agency spot on news.

One theme of the new album: love. “Love is and should always be an issue. That’s why we get up in the morning,” says the 37-year-old. He loses his heart pretty quickly: “There used to be moments when I said to my boys: ‘The woman, she is. Now the great love is finally here. She is an unbelievably great woman.’ And my buddies just replied: ‘Yes, that’s clear, Ben. Again and again, huh?’

Ben Zucker: With sport and a healthy diet to your dream weight

At the moment Benjamin Fritsch, as Ben Zucker’s real name is, two things are particularly important in life: “Music comes first and then of course sport. Sport has become a very important part of my daily routine.” You can see that too: The pop singer has lost a lot of weight recently. He succeeded in doing this through a “stringent sports plan”. His training would consist of running, rowing, cycling, and sit-ups.

But also through the change in diet, the pounds fell. His recipe: “No alcohol and only drink tea after 6 p.m.” In general, he pays a lot of attention to his diet: “I don’t count calories, but make sure not to consume bad fats and little sugar.”

Ben Zucker did not expect his Covid-19 infection

The corona pandemic presents musicians, like almost everyone, with major challenges. In order not to lose his nerve in lockdown, help him “do a lot of sport, play PlayStation and generally hope for better times”. Still, he missed being on stage a lot. “The stage is my home, my life. Musically, I somehow feel homeless without concerts and without my fans.”

Zucker recently planned a digital concert. But this had to be canceled at short notice because a team member tested positive for Covid-19. His first thought when he heard of the result: “Damn it! Now this virus has caught up with us. Hopefully our colleagues will not get too badly.” Of course, he also thought of his fans, “who were looking forward to the stream at home”.

At first he would not have been afraid of a possible infection. “At least not in the first moment, later at home,” says the pop singer. In accordance with the regulations, Ben Zucker then went into quarantine. At the end of the isolation, the shock: The pop singer’s corona test was positive. At the moment he only suffers from mild cold symptoms, like himself via Instagram announced. “At the end of the quarantine I hadn’t expected that at all,” he explains when asked by spot on news. Nevertheless, he tries to remain positive and “to continue working from home”.
