Benoît Paire “not happy in his life”: the tennis player confides in his mental problems

During a moving video published on the Brut media, Benoît Paire spoke at length about his mental health problems. Unhappy, the French tennis player admitted to having asked for help to climb the slope.

If we can legitimately reproach the coldness of certain members of the world tennis circuit, Benoît Paire is not one of them. The French tennis player, known for his fiery temperament, is regularly talked about. Between controversial statements and angry outbursts on the courts, Benoît Paire is only rarely at the center of attention for his results. His latest release has also made the buzz: the 33-year-old said he only enters the tournaments to pocket the bonuses.

However, on the ground, Benoît Paire chained disillusions. Despite a slight burst of pride at the last Australian Open, the latter continues to be eliminated in the first rounds, as was the case at Roland-Garros or Wimbledon. Annoyed by this situation, the French tennis player decided to confide in the media Brut, laying bare in a video published this Friday, July 8.

Benoît Paire: “I’m trying to understand what’s happening to me”

Here are his (sad) statements:I don’t necessarily feel happy in my life, because tennis is complicated, so it’s a vicious circle. I realized that I needed help, that I had to be better on the pitch. I see a lot of people precisely, to try to understand what is happening to me“.

Thus, a hypnotist, a psychologist and a mental trainer accompany him to try to “bring out” what is wrong with him. Hoping that this medical help will help him get better in his body so that it will be felt on tennis courts around the world.
