Bérénice Bejo: her husband is a famous director!


This Wednesday, June 5, Bérénice Bejo is the headliner of the Netflix film Under the Seine. In this feature film, the actress plays Sophia, a scientist who will team up with Mika (Léa Leviant), a young activist who spotted a shark in the Seine, while the triathlon world championships will soon take place in the river, and Adil (Nassim Lyes) in order to avoid a drama during the sporting event. Known for her discretion, in real life, the actress who plays the main role of this film is married and has two children. Indeed, since 2006, she has been in perfect love with the French director, Michel Hazanavicius.

The two stars met that year on the set of the film OSS 117: Cairo: nest of spies. Bérénice Bejo is then the main actress alongside Jean Dujardin, while Michel Hazanavicius directs the feature film. Between them, love at first sight is immediate and everything happens very quickly. Two years after the start of their love story, they gave birth to a little boy named Lucien (15 years old). In 2011, the family grew with the arrival of their daughter, Gloria, aged 12.

Very discreet, the actress and the director make rare appearances in public side by side, with the exception of when they work together and must represent their film at the Cannes Film Festival or in other important cinema events. Indeed, since their meeting on the set ofOSS 117, Bérénice Bejo starred in several other feature films by her companion, including the Oscar-winning film The Artistalongside Jean Dujardin or even more recently in The forgotten princewith Omar Sy and Cut! with Romain Duris as screen partner. In 2016, in the columns of Femina versionthe actress had also mentioned her numerous collaborations with her husband: “I’m lucky to get along very well with my boyfriend (…) And I don’t care about those who are upset to see us working together.” A passion for cinema that drives the couple.
