(CercleFinance.com) – Berenberg announced on Thursday that it had initiated coverage of Berkem, a French plant chemistry company, with a buy recommendation and a target price of 12 euros.
In a research note, the German intermediary points out that the use of natural ingredients in the production of hygiene and everyday consumer products remains ‘minimal’ despite the stated need to turn away from hydrocarbons.
Berenberg underlines that Berkem is precisely at the origin of a vegetable extraction technology making it possible to ‘boost’ the proportion of natural ingredients within chemical formulations.
The analyst adds that its products can be used not only for the consumer goods sector, but also for wood upgrading, resins for the paint industry and drugstore pest control products.
