BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany is preparing an aid plan of more than 100 billion euros to support companies weakened by the consequences of the war in Ukraine, can we read in a document from the German ministries of the Economy and Finance that Reuters was able to consult on Friday.

“In the current situation, the main challenge for companies is to provide them with short-term liquidity and therefore to support companies and industries with credit instruments”, indicate the two ministries in the document.

As part of this aid plan, which was to be presented on Friday, the government plans to make available to companies affected by the fallout from the conflict some 7 billion euros in loans through the public bank KfW.

Berlin also plans to provide guarantees on loans up to 100 billion euros to preserve the liquidity of companies in the event of an increase in energy prices, can we read in the document.

This aid plan also provides for the possibility of injecting equity or hybrid securities to bail out certain companies.

For the most energy-consuming companies, the government could grant temporary subsidies to offset the costs.
