On Friday there was a traffic accident in Grindelwald shortly after 6.45 p.m. in which a driver died. According to the Bern canton police, he was heading towards Grindelwald Grund when the vehicle left the road about 150 meters in front of the municipal works yard. The car then drove against the slightly rising embankment and came to a standstill. “The rescue workers who were called out immediately – an ambulance team and a Rega crew – then took over the rescue work. Finally, the 38-year-old Swiss from the canton of Bern who had an accident was flown to the hospital in critical condition, where he died on Saturday, January 15, 2022,” the police write. According to current knowledge, a medical problem may have led to the accident.
