To remember

Bernadette, comedy by Léa Domenach carried by Catherine Deneuve, takes control of the 1st day of France with 55,834 tickets sold! The feature film, centered on the wife of former president Jacques Chirac, is ahead of The Animal Kingdomled by Romain Duris and Paul Kircher.

This is the second film directed by Thomas Cailley after Les Combattants. The director doubles the stakes with The Animal Kingdom, attracting more than 35,000 spectators. This is twice as many as his previous work and his first day at 16,000 entries on August 20, 2014.

On the 3rd step of the podium, Between the lines attracts nearly 4,000 curious people. This English-language historical drama is directed by Frenchie Eva Husson. She takes us to the United Kingdom, during the year 1924. A maid in the home of an aristocratic couple, Jane secretly meets Paul, the son of the owners of the neighboring manor.

Instinctively, Jane knows that their difference in background, and Paul’s future marriage to another, dooms their passionate affair to failure. She then clings to these stolen embraces as so many future memories intended to nourish her pen as a writer in the making.
