Died of cancer on Sunday October 3, 2021 at the age of 78, the former president of the Olympique de Marseille football club, also a politician and nicknamed the “Zorro of companies”, left behind him an incredible heritage.
While he died in the Hotel de Cavoye, the Sunday Journal revealed that the furniture from his last home was going to be auctioned on July 6 at the Atelier Richelieu. Among them, many extremely rare pieces are of interest to some of the finest French museums. I have to say that some of the pieces he had accumulated over decades have been classified as historical monuments. Review of objects and furniture that will attract many buyers during the auction.
Bernard Tapie’s furniture estimated at almost five million euros
First, Bernard Tapie had a period chandelier signed André-Charles Boulle, estimated between 120,000 and 150,000 euros which adorned his huge living room. The latter also contained two polychrome carpets from the Savonnerie Louis XV period, estimated at around 25,000 euros each. But countless other objects are also scattered in the heart of the Hôtel de Cavoye.
Like Louis XVI sofas, travel boxes, seals that can’t be found anywhere else or even paintings that deserve a place in the museum. All the acquisitions of billionaire Bernard Tapie will be put up for sale, for an estimated price between 4 and 5 million euros.
