  • Several people were buried.
  • There are currently four rescue helicopters in use. A spokesman for the Swiss Air Rescue Service (Rega) named “several injured people” who were tracked down with search dogs.

At 2:01 p.m., the Bern cantonal police received a report of an avalanche, as a spokeswoman for the Keystone-SDA news agency confirmed. The cantonal police are coordinating the rescue operation with special services.
