An avalanche fell on Lake Oeschinen above Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland in the afternoon.
Several people were buried. According to the news portal “20 Minutes”, there are several injured.
Four rescue helicopters are in use.
At 2:01 p.m., the Bern cantonal police received a report of an avalanche, as a spokeswoman for the Keystone-SDA news agency confirmed. The cantonal police are coordinating a rescue operation with special services.

As the online portal 20Minutes reports, according to eyewitnesses, three rescue helicopters are in use, as Rega confirmed. Swiss Helicopter also supported the operation with a helicopter.
