1972 was the first “hit parade” appearance by pop star Bernhard Brink. In an interview, the musician remembers the wild times.

Pop singer Bernhard Brink (69) fondly remembers the 70s. “Sure, we didn’t let anything burn and took advantage of one or the other chance that came up,” he says in an interview with the magazine “Meine Melodie”. “Of course we all let off steam,” he adds. Through the contact with the fans, he explains that after appearing on Dieter Thomas Heck (1937-2018) in the “ZDF Hit Parade” he can get up to 30,000 letters “Today there are no more letters. Everything takes place on the social networks. You can really no longer compare that with what we experienced in the past.”

In general, it was “very different” in the early days of his career than it is today, Brink tells the magazine. After a gig, they went out to eat and celebrated: “Life was almost one big party,” he enthuses. Today “many things are more controlled and distanced”.

A star since the 70s

Bernhard Brink was particularly represented in the hit charts in the late 70s and early 80s. His most successful single to date is “Liebe auf Zeit” and reached number 13 in the charts. Brink is also active as a presenter and presents the “Schlager of the Month” on MDR. In May he released his new album “Lieben und Leben”.
