Berset criticized – health care industry is against KVV reform plans – News

  • 21 health organizations are up in arms against Health Minister Alain Berset’s reform plans.
  • The planned revision of the Health Insurance Ordinance (KVV) will lead to unequal treatment and put those affected in an emergency, they write in a letter.
  • This letter is available to “NZZ am Sonntag”.

“Patients with serious illnesses would have less and less urgently needed access to innovative therapies,” says the letter from Interpharma, the umbrella organization of hospitals, children’s cancer Switzerland, the umbrella organization of doctors FMH and 17 other stakeholders. The senders accuse the Federal Office of Public Health of accepting that the seriously ill are in a “dramatic emergency”.

BAG sees equal treatment strengthened

It is said that access to new, innovative therapies would be made more difficult because such therapies would have to be subject to new clinically controlled studies so that the health insurance companies would have to pay for them. But there are hardly any such studies.

At the request of the NZZ on Sunday, the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) said that the feedback was taken very seriously. However, one is of the opinion that the revision of the regulation will strengthen equal treatment.
