This second project would be based on the technical demo The Dark Sorcerer, a short film dating from 2013, produced before Detroit: Become Human, at the time of the PS4 for Sony. More humorous, this video mixed fantasy and staging.

The information comes from AccountNGT on Twitter, which seems to have internal sources at Quantic Dream, since it had revealed images of Star Wars Eclipse before its official announcement at the Games Awards, which gives it some credibility. According to the information given, the game will be based on the 12 minute technical demo The Dark Sorcerer (which you can find out above). It will be humorous, and the main team is located in Paris. Its development would be more advanced than that of Star Wars Eclipse, planned for consoles and PC, this would be an interactive medieval fantasy storytelling game, with a non-linear story written by David Cage. In summary, the gameplay should be quite similar to their previous games, but with a much lighter tone and a drastically different universe.

In this short film, we can see a wizard preparing his hexes in order to get revenge, then it is revealed that he was actually an actor in front of the cameras on a set as part of the development of a game. indeed a big wink in retrospect. It should be noted that Detroit: Become Human also had the same path, with a start in the form of a technical demo called Kara, years before.

As Star Wars Eclipse would still be three or four years away from its release according to other sources, it would indeed make sense that they had worked on another project before, which is therefore more advanced. Nonetheless, the studio has serious staffing issues for these two projects, with over 60 vacancies in Paris and Montreal. It seems the studio is struggling to recruit, its reputation for how the studio would treat its employees probably isn’t for nothing. The court cases that followed the newspaper attacks that sounded the alarm bells on the matter did not help. Calls for a boycott were also reasoned for these reasons when Star Wars Eclipse was announced.

The studio’s games are often at the center of various and varied rumors. The latest is that Hidetaka Miyazaki is said to be involved in a third-person shooter, a sci-fi universe and mechas.

Techland continues to communicate on Dying Light 2 Stay Human, whose release is near. The studio now details the lifespan of the game, with on the one hand the time required to do everything, and on the other, the length of the main campaign and side quests.
