Best Camera: Fujifilm continues to outperform the competition

We already tested the Fujifilm X-T4 in mid-2020 – and despite strong and newer competition, the X-T4 still holds the top spot in our leaderboard (DSLR & DSLM to APSC). Why is that?

Compared to its predecessor, the X-T3, the Fujifilm X-T4 in terms of photo and video quality, only detail improvements. On the other hand, the X-T4 has become faster overall. In addition, Fujifilm has given the series a 5-axis image stabilizer for the first time, which alone could be worth an upgrade. Fujifilm promises compensation of five to six light values ​​here. In the test, we only get two to three f-stops, but the stabilizer is a real help with longer exposures and videos.

Due to the overall outstanding performance, the mirrorless system camera is therefore number 1 in the best list (DSLR/DSLM to APSC) – just ahead of the Fujifilm X-T3 and the Panasonic Lumix DC-G9 (see ratings below).

Our conclusion at the time of testing:

“With the X-T4, Fujifilm continues its unusual success story. The mirrorless system camera impresses in the test with its outstanding image and video quality, and there is also a new feature that makes the hearts of all Fuji fans beat faster: the X-T4 is the first model in the XT series to have an integrated image stabilizer.”
