Bethesda announces the closure of its launcher, on the way to Steam!

It is without warning that the Bethesda studio announced on social networks the outright closure of its game launcher, namely, Bethesda.net. Nevertheless, despite this bad news, the developer has assured that the titles will migrate to the Steam platform.

Bethesda.net says goodbye to its players

An announcement like this is never really easy to make, but it was apparently inevitable in the case of Bethesda. Indeed, since the takeover of the studio by Microsoft, Bethesda games are available via the Game Pass.

Moreover, there is a phenomenal amount of launchers and in this specific case, there was really no reason to keep it open. But if the latter will close its doors shortly, players will be able, from April, to find the studio’s games via Steam.

According to the developer, not only the games are affected by this migration, but also the wallet.

Migrating to Steam will include your game library and Wallet, so you won’t lose anything from your Bethesda.net account.

Moreover, with regard to backups, they will also be affected by this migration. In this way, players will not lose their data and will not have to start over this or that title. Nevertheless, some of them may require manual transfers, and for this, players will need to have in their possession their Bethesda.net credentials.

At last, Bethesda recommends starting the process of migrating games to Steam as early as April, although they will remain accessible until May. For more information, a session of questions/answers is available directly on the site of Bethesda.

Microsoft has apparently decided to clarify once and for all the situation of the famous Call of Duty franchise, but also and above all its future on PlayStation consoles.
