Bethesda speaks of NASA punk: Starfield should be really realistic

A tiny new teaser and interview: Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi RPG, Starfield, is being talked about on every corner, and it’s set to be more realistic than some might have thought.

In an interview with Xbox Wire, several Bethesda developers and artists talk about Starfield – and describe the game’s style with the term ‘NASA punk‘. What exactly that means, they explain to Xbox Wire:

At the beginning of the project we tried to define the overall aesthetic of the game and ended up with the term ‘NASA punk’ – which describes a sci-fi universe that’s a bit more down to earth and relatable‘ explains Starfield lead artist Istvan Pely.

In this case, NASA punk means, above all, that Starfield orients itself directly to the current state of science – and looks to the future from this point. So nothing with sci-fi fantasy elements that would be completely impossible to our current knowledge. Pely goes on to say:

We wanted something really realistic.

How about a look at the new Starfield teaser?

No magic in Starfield? But perhaps scientifically explainable miracles

There are many scientific theories that have not been proven, but could theoretically be implemented. So when Starfield tries to venture a reasonably realistic look into the future, it doesn’t have to mean something bad. In general, science fiction means working with scientific knowledge – Star Trek is a good example.

What a possible magic system in Starfield As far as that goes, Bethesda could certainly come up with something. Ultimately, in the far future, advanced technology will at some point become indistinguishable from magic. implants, genetic manipulation or Forces of extraterrestrial life forms – realistic in the case of sci-fi does not mean possible nowadays.

According to Bethesda, Starfield is scheduled to be released this year, on November 11, 2022. It is therefore not unlikely that you will soon be able to take a close look at the game – such as in a trailer that reveals more about the gameplay.
