Bette Midler: Prominent surprise guests at "Hocus Pocus" reunion

Bette Midler and her witch sisters from "Hocus Pocus" celebrated their reunion on Halloween. There were also prominent surprise guests.

Bette Midler (74) held a "Hocus Pocus" reunion just in time for Halloween. In 1993, the actress played one of three witch sisters on the side of Sarah Jessica Parker (55) and Kathy Najimy (63). Not only did her former co-stars appear at the virtual charity event "In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover", but also a number of prominent guests were part of the project.

Guest appearances by Mariah Carey and Meryl Streep

Singer Mariah Carey (50) appeared as herself and opened the front door in her scene, in front of which Bette Midler aka Winifred Sanderson was standing. "I have news for you – Halloween is almost over so get out of here!" Said Carey. "It's my turn now!" She shouted as her song "All I Want for Christmas Is You" began to play. Oscar winner Meryl Streep (71) also made a brief appearance in which she told of a paranormal encounter with Winifred Sanderson that happened when she was shooting "Into the Woods" in 2014.

Stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis (61), Jennifer Hudson (39), designer Michael Kors (61), singer Adam Lambert (38), comedian Sarah Silverman (49) and model Bella Hadid (24) also showed up. Some even came disguised, such as Glenn Close (73) as Cruella De Vil from "101 Dalmatians" or "Full House" star John Stamos (57) as the devil.

"Hocus Pocus" sequel planned

The cult film "Hocus Pocus" is to get a sequel on Disney +. And the three main actresses should be there again. Bette Midler recently confirmed the sequel plans in an interview. "They asked us if we were interested and of course we said yes," said the 74-year-old. It is not yet known when exactly it will be so far.
