  • Better Call Saul season 6 is back on Netflix.
  • In the current episode, fans were surprised with the surprising death of a character.
  • Netzwelt explains why the story is far from over.

“Better Call Saul” is back after a short hiatus with Season 6 Episode 8, “Hit and Trigger”, the 8th episode. It’s the beginning of the end as we now only have 5 more episodes to go before the Breaking Bad prequel reaches its grand finale and has to tie together the stories of the two series.

While Episode 7 seemed to set the course of action for the upcoming episodes with a cliffhanger, Episode 8 played with expectations. Lalo, the last remaining antagonist of the story, was shot and killed by Gus Fring. Although Lalo’s death was actually inevitable, nobody would have expected it so soon.

So the question arises as to what should happen in the last 5 episodes, given that many storylines have meanwhile been completed. However, you have to keep in mind that “Better Call Saul” is primarily about Jimmy and his transformation into Saul Goodman, the history of the cartel and other points that link the series to “Breaking Bad” are actually secondary.

The story of Lalo was important to Jimmy as Jimmy now lives in fear and continues to do so in Breaking Bad. In addition, the murder of Howard Hamlin visibly upset him, Kim has no other choice. These are crucial experiences that will contribute in the coming episodes to Jimmy becoming the Saul we know from “Breaking Bad” – selfish and ruthless.

This change certainly has something to do with Kim’s fate, which remains unclear. does she die Is she divorcing Jimmy? Will she remain his wife and yet never appear in “Breaking Bad”? So Season 6 of Better Call Saul has a lot of loose threads that need to be tied up in that regard.

We also get a look at Jimmy’s future as Gene Takovic in Nebraska, who didn’t appear in the first episode of the season this time. Rumor has it that Gene’s story will take up an entire episode this time. We can also look forward to the already confirmed appearances of Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

So the story of Lalo is over, but the story of Jimmy, Gene and Kim continues. So it remains exciting in the Netflix news program where the 13th and last episode of “Better Call Saul” will be released on August 16, 2022.
