Good news for fans of ‘Breaking Bad’: Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are reprising their roles as Walt and Jesse.

Some fans have certainly been waiting for this: In the final season of “Better Call Saul” Bryan Cranston (66) and Aaron Paul (42) will be seen in their cult roles as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman from “Breaking Bad”. This was announced by showrunner Peter Gould during an appearance in Los Angeles, as reported by the industry magazine “Variety”..

After five successful seasons of the “Breaking Bad” spin-off, “Better Call Saul” will conclude with its sixth season. However, this has a lot up its sleeve for the viewers, Gould promised. “I don’t want to spoil the audience, but I will reveal that the first question we asked ourselves when we started this series was, ‘Are we going to see Walt and Jesse on this series?’ Instead of dodging, I just say yes.”

The worlds of the series intersect more than ever before

Gould didn’t reveal details about the return of the “Breaking Bad” main characters: “How or under what circumstances or something like that, you have to find out for yourself.” In addition, the appearances of Cranston and Paul are only part of what fans can expect. Bob Odenkirk (59), the main actor of the series, also promised that there would be “more”, but did not elaborate on his statement.

At the premiere party of “Better Call Saul” last Thursday, the makers and Odenkirk gave an insight into the final season. As “Variety” further reports, Gould explained there that the worlds of the two series would merge in a way “that has not been seen before”. Odenkirk said: “Personally, I feel like the two shows – ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’ – are more intertwined than ever in the final season. I think that’s surprising and cool, and it will be make you want to watch Breaking Bad again.”

The sixth and final season of Better Call Saul will be split in the US. According to media reports, the first episodes start there on April 18th, the others on July 11th. For Germany, the start is planned for April 19 on Netflix. The final episodes will probably be shown in Germany from July 12th.
