We all make this mistake when making coffee

Anyone who taps a cup for themselves while the coffee machine is running is twice as bad – and the reasons are obvious!

Coffee from the running machine is a bad idea!

At first glance, of course, a great life hack: When the coffee machine is running, you can pour yourself a cup beforehand without waiting until the end. Sounds practical, but you shouldn't do that anyway, because you spoil your coffee enjoyment twice:

1. The half-finished coffee tastes too bitter

This is because with a coffee machine (or with every filter coffee), strongly concentrated coffee essence runs into the jug, which then gradually becomes the delicious coffee that your heart desires every morning with the remaining hot water. If you pour your coffee in a hurry, you won't have delicious coffee in your cup, but bitter concentrate, which you can ideally make edible with extra milk and sugar. But it will definitely not taste really good. And even after that it doesn't get any better, because …

2. The rest of the jug is just slack coffee water

It's actually logical: The bitter coffee concentrate that you just poured yourself is now missing in the rest of the pot, of course. The hot water from above no longer enriches the coffee essence into the delicious hot drink. Instead, a small amount of sediment is diluted further until it looks like brownish puddle water – and probably tastes something similar.

At this point you can actually throw everything away: The coffee in your cup and the rest in the pot. It's a shame about the good coffee!

So: be patient for the few minutes and wait until all the water has really run through the filter. You will then be rewarded with a delicious, hot coffee that is neither too bitter nor too thin, but exactly the way you like it!
