BRIGITTE Beauty editor and make-up artist Melanie has not only tested countless mascaras on herself, but also on the eyelashes of her models. So that you don’t feel any drugstore regrets, she recommends these 3 products.

My parents and friends call me crazy because I test around 20 new cosmetic products every month, including at least one mascara. This title is probably what you would call an occupational hazard. But that is not what we are talking about today! Because of my love of excessive product testing – due to my job as a beauty editor – I have the three best mascaras from the Drugstore found.

Better than high-end mascaras: Beauty editor recommends these 3 drugstore mascaras

Every testoholic is also a shopoholic somewhere. And as a self-confessed member of this group, I know the feeling Regrets after shopping at the drugstore to feel. A product smiles at me, the advertising promises do the rest and the debit card is in a place where it should be much less common. The high of the purchase and the anticipation of trying it out prevails until the disillusionment sets in at the cosmetics counter: It doesn’t work. Since cosmetics are an emotional topic for me, then comes the moment when I really want to throw the product against a wall. Yes, bad purchases really annoy me! As a beauty editor, I see it as my rightful responsibility to protect you from regrets after the drugstore. My suggestion: I’ll show you my three Mascara-Favoritesfor which I would put my cosmetics cabinet (if there was only one) on fire.

Let’s start with the nature of my Eyelashes, so that you can judge whether we want the same thing:

  • Since my natural hair color Dark brown is, so are my eyelashes.
  • I have relatively thick eyelashesbut the individual hairs are rather thin.
  • They are completely straight. Without pliers, a curler or ink they won’t stay up.
  • I have oily eyelidswhich is why many mascaras that are not waterproof smudge throughout the day.
That's my eye, by the way. I have more tips below on how to make your eyelashes look thicker in addition to mascara - I used it here.

Without hesitation I can say that I I am very picky about all kinds of cosmetics. So I am almost unpleasantly demanding. If just one thing doesn’t work, I will never use the product again – I don’t know anything like that! My expectations I have listed a mascara for you here again:

In general, I prefer to use mascaras that not waterproof because I can remove my makeup more quickly. I also personally wear maximum two layers The second one when the first layer is about 80 percent dry.

1. The L’Oréal Paris false Lash Telescopic Gold Mascara

Let’s start with the most expensive mascara in the range. I particularly like the narrow, flexible brushes with which you can easily catch the inner and outer eyelashes. separates the eyelashes very nice and already with the first stroke of the mascara you get the feeling that it really grabs the eyelashes. It contains microfibers that really visibly extend. A huge plus: It doesn’t smudge on my oily eyelids. It holds the curl well, but it could be better.

2. elf Cosmetics Lash ‘N Roll Mascara

No, you can’t get eleven at Rossmann or DM, but I still count this mascara as a drugstore product because it is very affordable. In contrast to the L’Oréal product is the Brush roundedwhich I really like. This shape makes it even easier to reach all the lashes. It is also delicate, so it is also ideal for small eyes and drooping eyelids. My highlight here: the curl! The formulation is really lightwhereby the Momentum is maintained throughout the dayThis one is also super black and doesn’t smudge.

3. Catrice Lift Up Mascara

The name says it all! The Catrice Mascara gives the eyelashes the most volume when applied to the lashes. most momentum and holds it. The brush is here on the biggestwhich I don’t like so much – but it doesn’t bother me. It is remarkable that it makes the eyelashes very beautifully naturally fanned out separates. All this in combination with the deep black color and good durability is a highlight in the drugstore.

There is more to it than just mascara

By far the best eyelash curler for me is the Zoeva Ooh La Lash CurlerAnd because it’s not just important what you use, but also how you use it, I’m now going to give you the ultimate guide to curling your eyelashes.

  1. Mirror below your face so that you are looking downwards, so that you have enough room to bend.
  2. Now use the eyelash curler before applying mascara Base of your eyelashes and press for two seconds. But that’s not all!
  3. Now walk a bit further up towards the tips of your eyelashes. Now press again briefly and move on again. Repeat this until you reach the tips of your hair – always press along the eyelashes very often.
  4. Once you have reached the top, the all the way back. Now squeeze – move down – squeeze and so on.
  5. Wow! Now you have the ultimate momentum, right? Now immediately with mascara mascara before moving on to the next eye.

Bending is one thing – but the TightliningThis means that you have a black or brown eyeliner on the upper waterline Admittedly, this can be a little uncomfortable on the eye. The more often you do this, the easier it becomes. Take your time and fill the eyelids with the eyeliner all areas of skin between your eyelashes A thin eyeliner will optically thicken your eyelashes even more.
