Freenet announced a new TV stick in December 2023. The model called Hybrid TV Stick is now commercially available. How does the gadget score compared to Amazon’s Fire TV Stick? Another advantage of the stick over the Fire TV Stick is that it is possible to select TV programs directly using the number buttons on the included remote control. Such buttons are missing on the Fire TV Stick’s remote control; only the remote controls of TV devices with an integrated Fire TV Stick offer them. In addition to receiving linear television, the stick can of course also be used to access streaming services. The operating system is Android TV 12 including Google Play Store.

Technically, the stick is based on the already available waipu.tv. 4K stick. According to Freenet, the built-in quad-core processor S905C3 from Amlogic was specially optimized for streaming live TV. 2 gigabytes of RAM, 32 gigabytes of internal storage and WiFi 5 should ensure attractive transmission performance.
