Better to do without – these 4 things accelerate the aging process

Wrinkles and gray hair appear faster than you think. In addition to smoking and intense sunbathing, other factors can also contribute to aging. Diet in particular plays an important role: we will show you which things you should rather do without in order not to accelerate the aging process.

Who does not know it? You look in the mirror in the morning and discover rough skin, wrinkles or dull hair. Incidentally, these signs do not only appear in old age! Even at a young age, these things can show for the first time that the body is probably lacking some nutrients.

You should largely avoid the following 4 things if you want to look young and fresh:

Refined sugar

Sugar also binds the collagen fibers in the skin together. As a result, it is less elastic, does not heal as quickly and forms wrinkles more quickly. Sugar only in moderation!

salt

Very salty finished products and salty snacks are not good for our body. Salt increases the taste of our food, but too much salt causes water to build up in the body, which makes you look bloated and unhealthy.

alcohol

Regular consumption of alcohol stimulates sebum production in the body. That means: stronger pimples, blemished skin, acne, up to scars and wrinkles.

coffee

Yes, it’s true: Unfortunately, our favorite drink also promotes aging. Because. Too much coffee increases the levels of cortisol in the blood. Cortisol is the so-called “stress hormone” and ensures that the skin ages faster.

In order to slow down the aging process, one thing applies above all: rely on a healthy, antioxidant diet! Antioxidants are, for example, contained in:

  • Dark berries (blackberries, blueberries, acai)
  • Green vegetables (broccoli, cabbage sprouts, spinach)
  • Walnuts
  • Dark chocolate (at least 70%)
  • Pomegranates, red grapes, red wine (in moderation !!)
  • Herbs and spices (chives, wild garlic, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger)

Those who regularly incorporate the above-mentioned foods into their diet will benefit from the anti-aging effect for a long time. Some authors have dealt specifically with the topic of anti-aging nutrition and have written helpful advice – here you will find tips and tricks, also on the subject of cooking!
