- The long negotiations for better working conditions for Swiss flight attendants have now finally been concluded.
- The members of the Kapers cabin crew union have clearly accepted the new collective employment agreement (GAV).
- The proportion of yes votes was 79 percent, as Swiss announced.
This means that the new collective employment agreement can come into force on January 1, 2024. With the new contract, the on-board staff receive 400 francs more in basic salary per month, higher expenses and additional options for remuneration.
In addition, deployment plans will be published earlier and new part-time models will be introduced. As a result, the airline will incur additional costs of 200 million francs over the next five years. The old GAV would have expired at the end of April 2024.
At the end of last year, Swiss and Kapers agreed on a new CLA. However, this was rejected by union members in a vote at the beginning of the year. In May of this year, Kapers members spoke out in favor of terminating the existing CBA.
Negotiations were then resumed and Swiss complied with further demands. In October 2023, the two parties signed a declaration of intent for the now valid CBA.
