Today Betty White would have been 100 years old. Google is now devoting a special tribute to the recently deceased actress.

Great gesture by the Google makers: If you search for the name of Betty White (1922-2021) on January 17, you will be presented with raining rose petals as a tribute to the deceased US actress. The heads behind the search engine commemorate the TV legend, who would have celebrated her 100th birthday this Monday. In addition to the roses, “Thank you for being a friend” is presented to all Google users.

The line comes from the title song of the cult series “Golden Girls” (1985-1992). White played the lovely Rose Nylund in it. In Germany, the effect can only be seen if you set your language to English in the Google settings.

Betty White died after suffering a stroke

White died on December 31, 2021 at the age of 99 from complications of a stroke. She passed away peacefully and did not have to suffer any pain, reported her manager Jeff Witjas. Even US President Joe Biden released a statement on White’s death. She put a smile on the faces of generations of Americans. White is a cultural icon and will be sorely missed.
