Betty White: Will the 98-year-old stay young thanks to vodka?

Her longstanding television career brought Betty White an entry in the "Guinness Book of Records" in 2013. The now 98-year-old US actress, who is known to a wide audience, particularly because of her role as Rose Nylund in "Golden Girls", also deserves an entry for her appearance, because her age is hardly visible. If you believe the information of a friend of White, this is due to the occasional enjoyment of vodka, as it had spoken out according to "Closer Weekly".

"Betty loves to joke that vodka keeps her young," the actress's friend is quoted as saying. "She loves the picture of her sitting in a rocking chair at home, drinking a martini (note by the editor: with vodka) and watching game shows." The "Self is the Bride" actress is, however, "not a big drinker" and often only sips a cocktail.

Hot dogs, French fries – and a vodka martini

The 98-year-old is currently isolated in her home in the Californian town of Carmel due to the coronavirus pandemic. There she particularly enjoys eating hot dogs and French fries – her favorite snack – and sipping a vodka martini, the actress's friend reports.

According to entertainer Tom Sullivan (73), White also spends her time reading the daily L.A. Times from start to finish. She also "literally has thousands of crossword puzzles and is constantly solving them to keep her mind busy."

She plays Scrabble via zoom

Betty White had to put her regular game nights on hold due to current contact restrictions, according to the report. "She tried to play Scrabble with her friends on Zoom," said the star's close friend. "But it's kind of not the same thing."
