Between 43 and 55 inches: good TVs are available for less than 500 euros

It's amazing that good TVs with 50 to 55 inch screens are now as inexpensive as decent mid-range smartphones. In its most recent overview, Stiftung Warentest lists a whole range of devices in this size class that cost less than 500 euros, but still received strong quality ratings.

LG and Samsung among themselves

The best good 50-inch device with an overall grade of 1.9 is the LG 49SM8050PLC, which you can get online from around 490 euros. It received consistently good ratings from image (2.0) to environmental properties (1.9), and the examiners even found its versatility very good (1.3). However, it is not quite as versatile and consumes a little more power than the two devices with a better quality rating.

Small televisions also have good displays

The smaller televisions get, the less often you will find devices with good sound. But you save so much money that you can perhaps buy a suitable soundbar for it. When it comes to the picture, you don't have to compromise on televisions with 43-inch displays, even in this size class you can find a few devices with good overall ratings and screens at Warentest.
