Here we are in November 2023, and OCS, purchased by Canal+ at the start of the year, still exists in its historic form. Here are the latest films and the most recent series that are worth a look at its catalog.

Discover OCS via Canal+ CIné Séries

Pending its full integration into myCanal, OCS is still available via a classic subscription (or in the Canal+ Ciné Séries offer). To attract new subscribers or retain current ones, the platform previously owned by Orange therefore continues to add new content to its catalog. Here are the best additions to films and series in recent weeks.

The Winter King (Season 1)

Based on the novels of the same name by Bernard Cornwell (The Last Kingdom), The Winter King comes to us from the MGM+ platform. For us, it is therefore OCS which has decided to acquire the broadcasting rights for this more or less historic show. Indeed, it is a reinterpretation of the Arthurian legend taking place in Brittany. Iain De Caestecker (Agents of SHIELD) embodies King Arthur, while he and many well-known characters see their “historical” roles more or less turned upside down.

⭐ Its IMdB rating: 5.9/10

Greater Paris

Much less ambitious than the film at the top of this selection, Greater Paris does not deserve it however. In this comedy directed and written by Martin Jauvat, it follows Leslie and Renard, two young hangers-on from the Parisian suburbs, who find a mysterious object on a construction site for the future Greater Paris metro line. And if you like actor Sébastien Chassagne, you should watch the series Irresponsible on OCS.

⭐ Its IMdB rating: 5.9/10

Underpants (Season 1)

Created and mainly embodied by
Zoe Lister-Jones, Briefs follows Mae’s character. In a relationship for 13 years, she feels uncomfortable in her marriage. After spending a night with another man, she will discover that slipping seems to give access to… parallel universes. Lovers of multiverses and crazy ideas, Briefs is for you!

⭐ Its IMdB rating: 6.4/10

LT-21 (Season 1)

Original OCS production certainly less relaxed than the previous series of this selection, LT-21 makes the Covid-19 epidemic look like a little flu. In this show, the LT-21 virus causes its victims to suffer retrograde amnesia. Gabriel and Asia, doctors, try to stop the epidemic despite Gabriel’s contamination.

⭐ Its IMdB rating: 6.6/10

The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan

The Three Musketeers – D’Artagnan © Pathé

First film in an ambitious trilogy, The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan was rather well received in theaters when it was released. So it’s a pretty good catch for OCS (before it went to Canal+?). Particularly worn by
François Civil, Vincent Cassel, Romain Duris, Pio Marmaï and Eva Green, Martin Bourboulon’s film will be followed in a few weeks by The Three Musketeers – Milady.

⭐ Its IMdB rating: 6.7/10

With the loss of a large majority of the HBO catalog, and despite some improvements on the interface side, it is difficult today to really recommend OCS. The Orange platform still offers some quality series and some recent films, but with the end of this deal it has lost a lot of interest. Especially since its price remains high and its video quality is still mediocre. The coming months will be decisive, especially with the takeover of the platform by Canal+.
