The return of Axel Foley is coming soon! Eddie Murphy reprises his role as detective for a fourth installment of Beverly Hills Cop on Netflix. The famous Detroit police officer returns to Beverly Hills after the death of a friend to investigate, with the help of his daughter and her ex-boyfriend.

A new detective and comic adventure for Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) expected in 2024 on the most popular streaming service. It was producer Jerry Bruckheimer who relaunched this cult franchise, already made up of 3 films, released between 1984 and 1994.

Initially, Beverly Hills Cop 4 was to be produced by the duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys For Life), who preferred to focus on their Batgirl project, unfortunately since canceled.

The crime comedy written by Will Beall (Aquaman, Justice League), Kevin Etten (Desperate Housewives, Scrubs) and Tom Gormican (A Talent in Solid Gold) was finally directed by Australian director Mark Molloy.

And while fans are impatiently awaiting the film, Netflix has revealed a first image of Eddie Murphy in this new installment of Beverly Hills Cop. It shows Axel Foley dressed in a Detroit Lions jacket getting out of a wrecked vehicle in front of two police officers while a group of spectators record the moment on their phones.

Eddie Murphy will not be the only star actor from the franchise to return as Judge Reinhold (William Rosewood), Paul Reiser (Jeffrey Friedman), John Ashton (John Taggart) and Bronson Pinchot (Serge) also reprise their respective roles from the previous three films .

They will be surrounded by new faces like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who will be Axel’s new partner, Taylour Paige, who will play Axel’s daughter, Kevin Bacon, who will play an LAPD special unit officer, and Mark Pellegrino .

Beverly Hills Cop 4 is expected on Netflix in 2024.
