Beware of disappointment if you expect it!

BioShock 4 is one of the most anticipated games after the success of the first trilogy, and also a sequel that is sorely awaited. And obviously, the wait could still last.

BioShock 4 is still alive and well according to the 2K Games community manager. But for now, we have no idea what the game might look like. We simply have rumors and leaks whose validity remains to be proven at this stage. But a statement revived hopes of finally having an official announcement in the coming weeks. A sweet dream? Obviously, the plans would be very different and we must prepare now for a potential disappointment.

BioShock 4 should miss a big event

It is exactly May 21, 2024, and in a few weeks, the conferences will kick off with the usual video game announcements. Despite the total cancellation of E3, there will be Summer Game Fest 2024, with other events such as Xbox Showcase 2024 and Ubisoft Forward which will reveal more about Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Like every year, surprises are expected, such as a mysterious announcement from publisher 2K Games. “2K plans to reveal the next iteration of one of its biggest and most popular franchises” warns the Summer Game Fest Twitter account. Obviously, everyone is thinking about BioShock 4. But be careful because it already seems compromised.

According to information from the Czech site Vortex, this would not concern BioShock 4, but rather the highly anticipated return of another license. If we are to believe what they say, it is Mafia 4 which would appear very soon before or during the Summer Game Fest 2024. “A new Mafia is about to be revealed. This is the rumor that has been circulating in recent weeks in the Czech Republic. […] In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising if Hangar 13 made an announcement before Summer Game Fest 2024.” (via Vortex). The site still indicates that it is not 100% sure, so there may be a margin of error on the timing of the revelation. What is certain is that there would be no question of BioShock 4 near or far and that it will necessarily disappoint fans if this is confirmed.

If BioShock 4 is missing from 2K Games’ short-term plans, it could still benefit a certain Judas. The unofficial heir to Ken Levine’s franchise. And at the helm of this very promising new game according to the first previews, we find the illustrious creator of the BioShock saga.
