E. coli can cause stomach and intestinal problems such as diarrhea, nausea and vomiting

Escherichia coli or E. coli for short occur naturally in humans in the digestive tract. However, under certain conditions, E. coli strains can cause infections. It is one of the most common pathogens for urinary tract, gastrointestinal, wound and respiratory tract infections worldwide and in rare cases can lead to sepsis (bloodstream infection).

The most common symptoms are diarrhea, nausea and abdominal cramps. If the product has already been consumed and the symptoms mentioned occur, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Antibiotic resistance in E. coli has increased in recent years.
