The children’s scooter, Learn 500, from the Oxelo brand, sold in Decathlon stores, has been recalled for a faulty workmanship making it dangerous.

This Monday, October 18, 2021, the site of dangerous products alerts, 60 million consumers, requested a recall concerning a product for children presenting a danger to its users.

The Learn 500 children’s scooter, produced by the brand of equipment for boardsports Oxela and sold between January 24 and September 30 in Decathlon brands, presents a faulty workmanship that can lead to great risks of falls or injury. And for good reason, the steering tube of the scooter is very fragile. It can crack and break gradually with too intensive support or a too sudden change of direction, leaving the child to fall and consequently the possibility of being injured in particular with the sharp edges generated by the rupture of the tube.

“Many of you voted for this product and we thank you for it. Unfortunately, as part of our quality process, the OXELO teams have identified a potential risk concerning the breakage of the steerer tube of the scooter”, Decathlon wrote in its reminder.

The Decathlon stores are then launching a recall for all the lots of this Learn 500 Oxelo:

  • 8555206 – 2939387 – Learn 500 Blue (blue)
  • 8555207 – 2939388 – Learn 500 Pink (rose)

If you have this scooter in your possession, the brand recommends that you no longer use it, put it in the trash or bring it back to the nearest Decathlon store for a refund.
