US superstar Beyoncé mourns: Her cousin Martell DeRouen, also known as rapper Kardone, was killed in a gunfight in Texas.
Big shock for the American superstar Beyoncé (39, "Halo"). As reported by "San Antonio Express-News", the singer's cousin was shot dead in Texas on Tuesday. The locally known rapper Martell DeRouen (34) was found dead in his apartment by the police, it is said. A friend alerted the authorities after hearing nothing from DeRouen for several days. The search is now for 21-year-old Sasha Skare, who is suspected of having fired the fatal shots.
DeRouen, who was known in the scene by his stage name Kardone, was about to make his national breakthrough and already had a record deal in his pocket. So far, Beyoncé has not commented on her cousin's death. In a short statement his wife Joia said that the public should respect the family's privacy. Martell was a lovable person with an infectious smile.
