Biathlon Junior World Championships – Too many mistakes: Austria misses out on precious metal

The red-white-red biathlon talents continue to show good performances at the youth and junior world championships in the USA. However, the boys and girls again made too many mistakes for Edelmetall.

The local biathlon juniors continue to prove their class at the World Championships in Soldier Hollow. Fabian Müllauer defended his top 10 place in the youth pursuit and finished ninth, as in the sprint. The 19-year-old was the best Austrian when Slovakian Jakub Borgula won. He prevailed in front of Albert Engelmann from Germany and Arttu Heikkinen from Finland. Müllauer missed an even better place at the shooting range, where he made three mistakes. His HSV Saalfelden colleague Lukas Haslinger missed one more penalty loop. The 18-year-old shot four tickets and dropped from eighth to 14th place. Andreas Domes (5 penalties/WSV Schladming) improved from 46th to 39th place, Daniel Glasser (2 penalties/Nordic Ski Team Salzkammergut) finished the race in 47th place. Anna Andexer again in the top 10 Gold went to the girls to the German Selina Grotam, who, like the silver Lena Repinc (Slovenia) and the bronze Sara Andersson (Sweden), only missed one of 20 targets. Anna Andexer from SK Saalfelden was able to keep up with the best on the cross-country ski run, but proved to be less accurate at the shooting range. The Salzburger had to accept five penalties, and the 19-year-old finished tenth, just like in the sprint.
