Biathlon Tiril Eckhoff wins the women’s pursuit, Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet 6th

The great Tiril Eckhoff is back. The Norwegian, in difficulty this season, proved that she was back by winning the women’s pursuit of Kontiolahti (Finland).

All in control, she achieved 15/15 on her first shots and had proved to be solid enough on skis to consolidate her place as leader and offer herself two penalties in advance on her last standing shot. Eckhoff confirmed well after his podium in the sprint on Saturday.

Wierer moves up from 17th place

Behind, Dorothea Wierer had a superb race. Starting from 17th place, the Italian took full advantage of her shots (20/20) to take second place ahead of the German Denise Herrmann.

France’s Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet has long been in a good position for the podium but two faults on her last standing shot ruined her chances of getting on the podium. She finished 6th and will participate in the flower ceremony.

For the other Bleues, there were far too many shooting errors to hope to fight in front. Anaïs Bescond is 13th (17/20), Julia Simon 15th (16/20), Justine Braisaz-Bouchet 31st (13/20) and Chloé Chevalier 45th (15/20).
