(CercleFinance.com) – Bic publishes a turnover of 515.7 ME for the 1st quarter of 2022, an increase of 20.4% at constant exchange rates and 18.8% on a comparable basis. Bic noted growth in all divisions and regions, notably driven by an increase in volumes.

Adjusted EPS stood at 1.6 euros, compared to 0.96 euros in the 1st quarter of 2021, an increase of 66.7%.

Welcoming the ‘excellent commercial performance’, Gonzalve Bich, Managing Director, said he was ‘very confident in the ability of the teams to mitigate the multiple headwinds ahead and achieve the objectives for 2022’.

For 2022, Bic has set a sales growth target at constant exchange rates at the top of the range of between 7% and 9%.

‘The recent acceleration in cost inflation should have a negative impact on operating margins, and we are taking the necessary measures to limit this impact. We nevertheless expect an increase in absolute value of 2022 adjusted operating income thanks to higher volumes and a favorable impact of prices.
