US President Joe Biden spoke Friday (May 13) with Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson and Finnish President Sauli Niinistö for just over half an hour, the White House said, as these two countries expressed their intention to join NATO.

The Finnish president said on Twitter that he “outlined Finland’s next steps towards membershipto the Transatlantic Defense Organization and added that his country was “deeply grateful to the United States for their necessary support“.
