big disappointment for the players, the developers apologize

Payday 3 had a turbulent release marked by bugs and server problems. The developers therefore spoke and many explanations were provided.

Payday 3 was awaited by a large number of players. It must be said that given the success of the second opus, its sequel was inevitably going to be desired. And it arrived with great fanfare a little over a week ago. Armed and ready for action, the players launched the game, but this is where it gets complicated. In fact, the servers did not hold up. On PC, the bugs were legion and on PS5, it was almost unplayable. The developers therefore took the floor to apologize and detail the reasons behind these problems.

Payday 3 servers have been robbed

The cooperative FPS will have disappointed a certain number of people who did not expect such technical problems. But the players aren’t the only ones who were caught off guard. The developers did not anticipate these problems which affected theearly access of Payday 3. Obviously, they underestimated the number of players who would rush to try the game. Unfortunately, although fixes have been added since, certain bugs persist. Therefore, Starbreeze came to give us some explanations.

To be more precise, it was the boss of the studio, Тоbіаѕ Ѕjögrеn, who spoke through a press release on the difficulties encountered by the community. His disappointment is obviously immense. According to him, this is due to third-party software that supports matchmaking.

The game log encountered an error and found it difficult to handle the influx of players. This problem has caused an irresolvable situation.

But, good news, a new version of this software was deployed, significantly improving the performance of Payday 3. However, misfortune continued to befall Starbreeze. In fact, an update of this famous software was released last Sunday. This had unexpected consequences, once again causing instability in matchmaking. Currently, the studio continues to strive to make the FPS more stable and enjoyable to play. That said, it displays rather reassuring scores.

Unsurprising popularity

Despite these significant concerns, the reputation of the Payday license has done its work. This weekend, it managed to reach 218,250 people connected simultaneously. Since its launch, over a million unique players have launched the game. When the server issues are resolved, we can expect to see even more impressive numbers. In any case, Tobias Ѕjögrеn is confident about the future of Payday 3 and promises fans a better experience. “We have a lot of work ahead of us to regain the trust of the community, but we will work hard to do it.”
