The EU Commission envisages different tariffs for different car manufacturers: BYD will be subject to an import tariff of 17.4 percent, Geely (Volvo, Polestar) will be charged 20 percent, and Volkswagen’s state-owned Chinese partner group SAIC will be charged 38.1 percent. Other car manufacturers that have cooperated in the EU investigation will be affected by an “average weighted tariff rate of 21 percent.”
