big leaks for the DLC and a collector’s surprise

Elden Ring was the victim of a big leak and the release date of its highly anticipated DLC was revealed in advance, but that’s not all. We were also treated to several other surprises that should please fans of the license.

The GOTY 2022 may no longer be too relevant with all the big releases of 2023, but the slightest information about it creates a real tidal wave. Almost two years already since Elden Ring came to make everyone agree. Two years during which the studio worked hard on the sequel. A gigantic DLC which should arrive next year if all goes well. Well, actually, it’s a given unless plans change at the last minute. The exit window even leaked.

A collaboration and collector’s item for the Elden Ring DLC

Yes, leaks have almost become a norm. Either no one knows how to keep secrets anymore, or everyone has become hyperactive in detecting the slightest flaw on all the hot topics in the industry. A bit of both certainly. Like many, Elden Ring was the victim of a major leak revealing not only a release date for its Shadow of the World Tree DLC, but also a surprising collaboration. It was the e-commerce site Datablitz which disclosed the information in advance by putting online, apparently without intention, Xbox Series Trust Master controllers in the colors of Elden Ring. A mostly black pad with a few gold elements here and there.

The release date of the DLC has leaked with other surprises!

The product page, now deleted, also revealed another important piece of information, an output window. In a description, it was in fact written in black and white that the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the World Tree, should be released by February 2024. We don’t have the precise days, but already a month and not just any month since the game will celebrate its two years at the same time. Moreover, there is mention of an anniversary edition of the game. We imagine that it would be a bundle to blow out the two candles of the title in which we would find the base game and its DLC.

The collaboration with Trustmaster goes even further since it also tells us about the future. We are told that this extension would obviously not be the only one and that events and/or a new major DLC would be planned for 2025. Some rumors already claimed that other content in addition to the Shadow of the World Tree DLC was in preparation, FromSoftware has already said several times that it has big plans for Elden Ring. Would a series of DLC be part of this? Well possible. But we will continue to take a grain of salt for the moment.

In any case, Trustmaster will be alongside FromSoftware and Bandai to celebrate the game’s anniversary next February, the DLC should officially reveal its date to us shortly. We will see.

Still, we really want to get a little bit of a spin on this Elden Ring, don’t you?
