Big update for Bayonetta 3, which improves some points of its gameplay

Eight long years passed between the publication of Bayonetta 2 on Nintendo Wii U, and that of its long-awaited sequel on Switch. A wait largely rewarded, since last October fans were able to discover an adventure of exceptional quality, similar to what the Platinum Games license had accustomed us to. And hold on tight, not content with being already excellent, the title is getting an update improving certain points.

Bayonetta 3 simpler in 1.20?

It’s no secret, Bayonetta 3 is a little bomb. A gift from Platinum Games to Nintendo Switch owners, who can’t touch the very good Devil May Cry 5. And if God of War Ragnarok Where Elden Ring had been released another year, it’s a safe bet that the Beat’em All would have been much more rewarded. Finally, we must not complain, it has already received the prize for best action game at the Game Awards!

Not content with being already exceptional, which our in-house test will not contradict, Bayonetta 3 offers itself this week a very complete update, bringing some corrections deemed necessary by the developer. Among them is the everlasting disappearance of a good number of bugs of all kinds, obviously. But also a few more interesting points of detail, which change the gaming experience a bit.

To begin, Viola’s gameplay has been simplified a bit. What this means, more concretely, is that the timing for releasing Witch Time is now more permissive, but also that the duration of this Bayonetta-style Bullet Time is now longer. Finally, we note that more time was given to Niflheim challenges. Good ways to make the game a little more accessible to neophytes.

Waiting for the release of Bayonetta Origins: Cerza and the Lost Demonscheduled for next March 17 exclusively on Switch, this update 1.20 (already available) is a good opportunity for players to come back to Bayonetta 3. And incidentally, for novices to be able to embark on this adventure more serenely.
