Big update for Copilot and Copilot+ PC

Microsoft is increasing its announcements around artificial intelligence and presenting the new features of Copilot, its AI personal assistant, as well as Copilot+ certified PCs equipped with NPUs.

Copilot: even more complete

The Copilot application, available on the web, mobile devices and Windows 11, is enriched with four new features:

• Copilot Voice: Copilot is now able to hold smooth conversations, including interrupting you, with a choice of four voices.
• Copilot Daily: To start the day off right, Copilot offers you a selection of the most relevant information.
• Think Deeper: Copilot is able to analyze multiple variables to provide you with comprehensive answers. For example, it can help you organize a trip by taking into account the departure locations of each participant and suggesting the most suitable itineraries.
• Copilot Vision: This assistant helps you navigate information-rich websites. For example, it can help you find a specific product or a book in a digital library.

New experiences for Copilot+ PCs

Copilot+ certified laptops, equipped with an NPU of at least 40 TOPS, will benefit from new features by November, in addition to Recall.

Like Android smartphones and their “Surround” function, Copilot+ PCs will allow you to search for content on the screen using “Click To Do”. All you have to do is press Windows keys + right click to select a part of the screen (image, text, link) and perform various actions, such as blurring the background of a photo or getting an explanation about a text.

Windows search is also improved to better understand natural language. For example, instead of searching for Bluetooth settings, just type “add my headphones” into the search bar. Likewise, to find your mountain vacation photos, simply search for “mountain” in File Explorer.

The Photos and Paint applications also benefit from new features. Photos now allows you to increase image resolution up to eight times using AI. As for Paint, the Co-Creator functionality allows you to add elements to an image by surrounding them.

The Copilot app, with all these new features, is available today. The new features reserved for Copilot+ PCs will be deployed in November, alongside the certification of Intel Core Ultra series 2 and AMD Ryzen AI 300 processors.
