Bigster: Dacia’s high-end SUV marketed in 2025

After presenting the Dacia Bigster Concept in 2021 as part of its Renaulution plan, the Romanian manufacturer Dacia is today formalizing the marketing in 2025 of its C-segment SUV, the Bigster.

At the heart of this industrial strategy is the CMF-B platform, shared with Renault. It allows the construction of vehicles of different silhouettes, sedan, compact and SUV of segments B and C. It also allows to play on lengths ranging from 4.10 m to 4.60 m, in two or four-wheel drive. Finally, it allows multi-energy with thermal or hybrid engines. Dacia does not, however, mention a 100% electric vehicle.

From 2025, the new Bigster will be produced at the historic factory in Mioveni (Romania). Inaugurated in 1968, this factory produces the Duster, Sandero Stepway, Logan and Jogger. From 2024, the new generation of Duster will also be assembled there. In order to balance industrial production loads, the manufacturer announces that the Jogger range, including the Jogger Hybrid 140 version, will also be produced at the Tangier (Morocco) plant from the 2nd quarter of 2024. For the moment, only the Sandero was assembled there.

For the moment, although no details have filtered on the Bigster, we know that this 4.60 m long C-segment SUV will come to face the Peugeot 5008, Nissan X-Trail or even Skoda Kodiaq, but with a tariff positioning that we hope will be much lower. It will probably have the possibility of accommodating up to seven passengers and will carry electrified engines, in particular simple hybrid (as on the Jogger) and rechargeable hybrid (as on the Captur E-Tech Plug-in Hybrid).

“We are now concentrating on the offensive in the C segment, developing our industrial plan accordingly and always remaining faithful to our values: offering our customers the essentials with the best possible price/performance ratio”said Denis Le Vot, CEO of Dacia
